(Jindo=Jindo Radar) Ji Gyeong-jun = A mega-project to establish a 3.6GW offshore wind power complex—rivaling the world’s largest—has officially set sail, capitalizing on Jindo County’s pristine waters and infinite wind resources.
Following its recent confirmation as a designated centralized energy complex by the Ministry of Climate, Energy, and Environment, Jindo County has launched the ‘Offshore Wind-Centric Growth Strategy TF Team.’ This initiative is operating in close alignment with the broader Jeonnam integrated metropolitan strategy.
■ “Wind Pension” for All Residents… A Breakthrough for Regional Extinction The core of this project goes beyond merely generating renewable energy; it focuses on a ‘Regional Resident Profit-Sharing System’ that distributes the financial benefits among the entire community. Through this large-scale investment, Jindo County has revealed an ambitious vision to overcome the crisis of regional extinction—driven by population decline and an ultra-aging demographic—by ultimately providing a monthly ‘Wind Pension’ to all county residents.
■ Multi-dimensional Coverage to Serve as the Eyes and Ears of the Voters To deliver the most vivid and accurate updates on the offshore wind farm’s progress to our readers and international stakeholders, Jindo Radar has activated a special investigative reporting team.
Moving forward, we will utilize DJI Mini 4K drones to capture high-definition aerial footage of the vast Jindo waters where the complex will be built. Furthermore, we plan to provide a multi-dimensional analysis of potential environmental impacts and strategies for harmonious coexistence with local fishermen. We are committed to acting as a reliable watchdog, helping residents and overseas investors make informed judgments about this project that will reshape the future landscape of Jindo, the “Treasure Island.”
